Valdas Kavaliauskas has many years of experience in legal work. He started his career as a lawyer in 2002 while studying at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, where he obtained a master's degree in law in 2003. For the past many years, Valdas Kavaliauskas has been specializing in migration and asylum law. In addition, he has accumulated a lot of experience in representing clients in various other legal matters: corporate, contract law, public procurement, etc. He was a member of the boards of companies and supervisory boards. He worked in a state administrative institution, a commercial bank, biotechnology start-ups, and law firms. As a public procurement lawyer, he has worked at the State Enterprise Lithuanian Monuments, the Research Council of Lithuania, Vilnius University and the Association of Lithuanian Research Libraries.

In addition to the main areas of his legal practice, Valdas Kavaliauskas has worked on Lithuanian biotechnology and medical projects: feasibility study of the establishment and development of the Biobank in Lithuania; Commercial feasibility study of research by UAB Lirema. He also conducted trainings in Lithuania in the field of medicine, public procurement and labor law. He has participated in public procurement trainings in Lithuania, Spain, the Netherlands and competition law trainings in Finland, Estonia and Latvia.
